Guys everywhere were rejoicing when Julianne Hough became single again in March of last year, but little did they know, the blonde bombshell had committed to being single for a year.

That's the bad news, the good news is that the year is almost up!

After dating media mogul Ryan Seacrest for three years, Julianne said she decided to take some time to herself before getting involved in another relationship.

"I'm a relationship girl, and I feel so grateful for the ones I've been in," she reveals in the March issue of Self. "They've been excellent...I've been hurt but never angry...and they've helped me grow to be who I am today. But my goal has been to be single for an entire year."

We're guessing that was probably pretty tough since she probably had guys banging down her door the second she regained her single status.

Almost there, guys!

Unfortunately for even the most patient males, Julianne was spotted holding hands with Canadian hockey player Brooks Laich over the weekend.

They haven't confirmed that they are in a relationship yet (some friends hold hands, right?) but even if they aren't, we give her huge kudos for making it 11 months, which sounds like it wasn't always easy.

"There have been moments when I'm like, 'This sucks!' But my dad used to say to me, 'When you feel happy with who you are, you won't need anybody to fill a void.' So for now, I'm focusing on my work and my soul," she explained.

Julianne is so inspiring...even when she's just passing along some advice from her pops!
