The Teen Mom stars have not shied away from showing the good, bad and downright ugly aspects of their lives on the popular reality show, but some of the things we're learning about the stars' lives before the MTV cameras showed up is even more shocking.

Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry's memoir Pride Over Pity is set to be released in April and it sounds like this one has some huge shockers in it. The book promises to reveal some "dark secrets she has so closely guarded" including some "traumatic sexual experiences that have left her deeply scarred."

As if that isn't heartbreaking enough, Kailyn also reveals a brief stay in a homeless shelter and other sad secrets from her past. "If I ever gaze at the past, I shudder,"a newly-released excerpt reveals. "I shudder to count how many times I mistakenly thought I was loved. I quiver unpleasantly to recall the person I used to be and how I acted in some of my relationships. Looking back, it's not surprising that I turned to boys for love so early. I needed appreciation. I needed to feel worthy. Most of all I needed support."

Unfortunately, haters gonna hate and Kailyn is already receiving some negative feedback about the book. "Can't read comments on articles about my book because people are nasty," she tweeted this morning. It's pretty sad to think that instead of supporting Kailyn and applauding her for having the courage to come forward with some of this stuff, some people have basically chosen to bully her.

Will you be buying Pride Over Pity when it comes out in April?
