Ugh. We knew Ariana Grande's decision to record the duet "Don't Be Gone Too Long" with Chris Brown might not have been the best plan, but it looks like the whole thing may be seriously delayed anyway. You know, given the fact that Chris is...ahem...not available (*cough* in jail) right now.

Ariana took to Twitter last night to break the news to her fans and it sounded like a super painful announcement for her. She didn't want to let her followers down, after all.

Still, what are you going to do? Collaborating with Chris is definitely a risky proposition.

Ari tweeted about the development, apologizing along the way: "sooo.... i have bad news and good news.... but just please keep in mind how much i love you and how i wish more than you do that this wasn't the case... ok so.... my loves... so obviously some things have changed recently... so we have to delay the dbgtl countdown... some things are out of our control."

She clarified by tweeting: "my duet partner isn't available at the moment to put the song out with me"

Later, she wrote: "my brain hurts. so much happens in a day lol. I'm going to be just as surprised as you guys for these next few days. expect the unexpected," adding, "I get a call that the song was pushed back... then I get a call that it isn't... gonna take the back seat with this one"

Guess we'll have to wait and see if the duet ever makes the light of day.
