So sad, yet so sweet. Ed Sheeran made his fan's life when he sang to her just moments before she passed away.

Just days ago, the "Lego House" singer serenaded ailing fan Triona Priestley on the phone minutes before she lost her battle with cystic fibrosis. Ed granted her final wish by singing her favorite song, "Little Bird," as she listened on.

The whole moment went down thanks to a Twitter campaign and the hashtag #SongForTri. Soon the hashtag was trending on Twitter, with thousands of users trying to contact the singer. After #SongForTri became popular, Ed's team contacted Tri's friend Lucy Hanlon to arrange a call between them.

"Ed rang Triona and personally sang 'Little Bird' to her as she took her last breaths," Lucy wrote on Facebook. "Triona left us listening to her idol surrounded by all the people who loved her. People's respect is incredible. We would like to thank everyone."

After a long fight with her illness, Tri passed in the company of friends and family. Ed was quick to tweet a message in memory of his fan.
