This is beyond tragic. A 16-year-old honors student named Maren Sanchez was stabbed to death after declining a guy's prom invitation.

A 16-year-old classmate at Jonathan Law High School in Connecticut asked her to go to tonight's prom with him this morning, and when she said no, he attacked her. He stabbed her in the neck before a school officer tackled him and restrained him, according to police.

Sadly, it was too late to save Maren, who was planning to attend prom and had even posted a photo on Facebook in her gown. She was pronounced dead a half hour later at a nearby hospital.

The junior prom has been postponed in light of this awful incident. Our hearts go out to her friends and family, and we hope the terrible person who did this is punished accordingly. Girl Kicked Out of Prom for Wearing Pants
