Sorry, guys...it looks like there is no escaping selfies (or the people who take them) anytime soon. The super annoying word, and concept, have both been added to the new Merriam-Webster dictionary, so they've officially become part of our world, whether we like it or not.

Along with Kim Kardashian's favorite word, some other new terms have been added to the big book, including hashtag, dubstep, fangirl, catfish and...wait for it...baby bump.

So, how do they define these super important terms of our times? Check 'em out:

hashtag (n., 2008): a word or phrase preceded by the symbol # that clarifies or categorizes the accompanying text (such as a tweet)

dubstep (n., 2002): a type of electronic dance music having prominent bass lines and syncopated drum patterns

fangirl (n., 1934): a girl or woman who is an extremely or overly enthusiastic fan of someone or something

catfish (n., new sense): a person who sets up a false personal profile on a social networking site for fraudulent or deceptive purposes

baby bump (n., 2003): the enlarged abdomen of a pregnant woman

So informative, thanks guys. Meanwhile, real catfish everywhere are super pissed because they totally had their identity (and dictionary spot!) stolen by these havoc-wreaking impostors.
