None other than Team Usher!
Josh Kaufman, a 38-year-old father of three, beat out Christina Grimmie and Jake Worthington to win the NBC singing competition, with the latter two finishing in second place.
"I can't even talk," Josh told host Carson Daly after his win was announced, according to USA Today. "I'm overwhelmed, surprised, happy, relieved."
After the show was over, Josh told reporters about the type of album he wanted to make, saying, "At the root of everything I do is a kind of soulfulness. You can add a pop element, you can add rock into that. I want to find a balance between something that's classic and something that's modern."
Usher, meanwhile, couldn't stop gushing over the win, saying he has more motivation to return for season 7. "This is definitely a great way to close Season 6," he said. "It obviously gives a great reason and logic to come back and defend the title, but more than that, to change the idea of what type of winner and what it takes to win, the type of songs you choose. Josh put up an incredible performance and fight. He's a shining example of what you can do if you have determination, passion and commitment."
Adam and Blake have already signed on for season 7. Shakira has confirmed she will be leaving the show, and Gwen Stefani and Pharrell will be stepping in as new judges.
