After the Hunger Games star told a story on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon last week about trying (and failing) to get J.Lo to dance with her at an event, the "I Luh Ya Papi" gave her version of what really went down.
"This is how I remember it: I remember that we were at the Met Ball, and Kanye [West] was about to perform, and it was like a crazy moment," J.Lo told Access Hollywood at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards. "And then they came over-Jimmy Fallon, he started talking, and I was with Benny [Medina] and Beau [Casper Smart], and then [Jennifer Lawrence] came over, too. It was like they were a little group."
The American Idol judge remembered J.Law wanting to dance, but said she didn't intend to outright reject the Oscar winner. "She was like, 'Let's go dance,' and I was like, 'No, I'm good right here,'" the singer said. "But I didn't mean it like, 'I don't want to dance with you.' I just meant, like, 'It's so crowded in here. Let's stay right here.'"
If it hadn't been so crowded J.Lo said she would have loved to dance with the 23-year-old actress, adding, "Absolutely. Come on! That would've been so sweet."
J.Law's story about that moment was a little bit different, saying that J.Lo kinda dissed her after she came up with a dance routine with Jimmy at the Met Ball to get the "I Luh Ya Papi" crooner to cut a rug with them.
Things took an embarrassing turn, though, when Jimmy flaked out on the plan.
"So, basically, I do it, he's gone and it's just me looking at J.Lo going, 'Dance with...me!'" J.Law said. "And she was like 'I think I'm just gonna...observe.' You made me look like a freak in front of J.Lo! Do you know what that feels like?," J.Law playfully yelled to Jimmy.
Perhaps these two need a round two?
