Levis Jeans CEO Gives Gross Tip to Keep Jeans Looking Fresh

The CEO of Levis Jeans has a not-so-sanitary solution for keeping jeans looking fresh.

Chip Bergh hasn't washed his jeans in a year...and he thinks everyone else should get on the no-wash plan as well.

"These jeans are may be a year old and these have yet to see a washing machine," Chip said at a Fortune Brainstorm Green conference Tuesday, referring to his own denim pants, according to CNN. "I know that sounds totally disgusting."

Chip recommended spot cleaning the jeans with a sponge or toothbrush and a bit of detergent, then air drying, instead, adding that you should rarely machine wash your jeans. He says you should very seldom machine wash.

"If you treat them right, they'll last a long, long time -- probably longer than most people's waistline."

Umm...we think we'll take our chances.

What do you think about Chip's advice? Too gross? Or does it sound like a good idea? Tell us in the comments!
