On Friday night, the annual World's Ugliest Dog competition was held. As usual, there were a whole bunch of ugly pooches parading around the stage. We have mixed emotions about the dog who ended up winning, though.

His name is Peanut and no, he's not the cutest dog you've ever seen in your life, BUT this two-year-old rescue dog might have looked a lot different if he hadn't suffered severe burns when he was a pup. There is a big difference between ugly and maimed and unfortunately, this poor dog's appearance seems to have been altered by abuse.

The good news is that Peanut is in much better hands now and his owner is hoping that his victory will help raise awareness about animal abuse. In a move that made us love her even more, she is also reportedly donating his $1500 prize toward other animals' veterinary bills.

Peanut isn't so "ugly" anymore, is he? Congrats, little buddy, and if you know any tricks, please give your owner a high-five for us. If you don't know any tricks, that's OK, we love you anyway.
