When Martha was asked what she thought about the former Gossip Girl star launching her Preserve company, The 72-year-old old told the Huffington Post, "Let her try...I don't mean that facetiously! I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though - I can't even tell you about it - but I want to be Blake Lively."
At least she followed up her comment with something nice? Nevertheless, we're not sure how this will sit with Blake considering she's looked up to Martha for quite some time, even asking her for help when she had difficulties planning her 2012 wedding to Ryan Reynolds.
Martha did have some nice things to say about Blake though, going on to dish on how she and the Savages star became good friends. "She moved into my neighborhood a couple of years ago with Ryan - before they got married they bought a house right around the corner from my house," Martha said. "And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends."
"They're very friendly, very nice people," she added. "In a way, kind of shy - not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies - but very shy in person. But she's a baker and a homemaker." The couple has since moved to a more private location.
Do you agree with Martha? Should Blake just stick to acting? Tell us what you think in the comments!
