Call it a case of art imitating life.

Nina Dobrev, who falls for a fake cop in her new comedy Let's Be Cops, said there actually was a time she dated a police officer. And it didn't go so well.

"I went on a date once with a police officer, unbeknownst to me," the Vampire Diaries star told E! News. "I thought he was a regular guy. And when I found out that he was a police officer...I wasn't so into it. I got paranoid that I would illegally cross the street and get a ticket for jay walking. I thought he was gonna arrest me every five seconds, so it obviously didn't go anywhere after that...Even when I'm not doing something wrong, when there's a police officer [near me], I suddenly feel guilty for nothing."

Cop dating aside, Nina has been the subject of more than a few romance rumors as of late, after she reportedly flirted and canoodled with a few actors during this year's Comic-Con bashes.

After getting linked to Orlando Bloom, Derek Theler and Ben McKenzie, the brunette beauty decided to have some fun with the chatter, posting a pic of herself with four more "possible boyfriends."

"Apparently I have SOOOO many boyfriends. Here's four more. I'm so busy. #tabloidsillyness," Nina captioned an Instagram shot, which showed her standing with a big grin on her face as four guys – fellow Vampire Diaries actors Steven R. McQueen, Zach Roerig, Joseph Morgan and Matt Davis all gave their best sexy smiles in the background.

"I had a busy weekend at Comic-Con!" she joked to the network. "I was linked to like 10, 15 guys apparently. Stay tuned for next year-I'm gonna have a kissing booth!"
