Before the stars hit the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards, we asked celebs what it would take to top Miley Cyrus's twerk-filled performance from last year...and who could do the deed.

While a few people said Beyoncé, like Echosmith and MKTO's Malcolm David Kelley, the name on mostly everyone's lips was Nicki Minaj.

"I think if we're categorizing it as the shock of it all, Nicki Minaj could probably do that tonight," Nick Jonas told us.

"I don't know. I'm surprised to see what Nicki Minaj brings," Awkward star Greer Grammer said. "She's got a little bit of crazy and a little bit of fun in her."

"Nicki Minaj's 'Anaconda' is gonna do that this year," MTV's Guy Code star Charlamagne added. "Look at what Miley did last year with no a**. Imagine what Nicki Minaj could do with a whole lot of a**."

Surprisingly, even with a whole lot of booty in the mix, not even Nicki's performance of "Anaconda" came close to being as shocking as Miley's VMA performance, but the rapper did reign supreme when it came down to who stars picked as the best twerker.

While we might have to say Beyoncé's daughter Blue Ivy stole the show altogether, Kendall Schmidt had some advice for other music stars who want to try to top Miley's performance next year. "Cut off a limb [on stage], shave your entire head...you could get married on stage while being naked."

Take a peek at Echosmith doing their version of twerking, "Same Love" singer Mary Lambert giving us a sample of her new song "Secrets," and the big names we caught on the red carpet in the clip above!
