Fortunately, the reality star is in a much better place now and she's taken the time to reflect on a lot of those things from her past in her new memoir, Never Too Late.
In an excerpt from the book, obtained by RadarOnline, Amber provides disturbing details from her first suicide attempt and explains how she got hooked on pills. She also describes how she and baby daddy Gary Shirley lost themselves in the money and "weird kind of fame" they had.
At the point which Amber describes as her rock bottom, she says the prescription pill addiction was also accompanied by a sex addiction.
"I was doing whatever I wanted, and I didn't do anything in moderation. It was always extreme when it came to partying and sex," she writes. "When it really got down to it, my life at that time was nothing but pills and men... Looking back I think it's obvious I had a bad sex addiction along with the pill addiction."
The good news is that Amber used her time in prison to turn her life around. She got her GED and she even wants to open her own treatment center, which she tells ChristianToday will be a "boot camp" kind of rehab.
We're so excited to see the new-and-improved Amber when Teen Mom (minus Farrah Abraham) returns in 2015.
