Amanda Bynes can't seem to stay out of trouble no matter what city she's in.
After getting a DUI in LA, the troubled starlet was caught twice allegedly shoplifting in New York City.
One incident happened at Barneys Wednesday afternoon when the 28-year-old put a $200 hat on her head then walked out of the store. Although security stopped her and police were called, the store decided not to press charges as long as she agreed not to return.
Amanda claims it was a misunderstanding, telling People she was planning to pay for the hat but had to leave the store because people wouldn't stop taking her photo.
TMZ reports that it wasn't the first time yesterday she tried to take something before paying. Employees at Pookie & Sebastian noticed Amanda acting suspicious before she tried to leave with a shirt stuffed between her arms.
When an employee intercepted her and asked if she was planning to pay, her reply was reportedly: "Do I really have to buy this?"
Eventually, she coughed up $128 for the top. Considering she's already on thin ice with the law, it's a good thing no charges were pressed...and we suggest that next time, Amanda charges things to her credit card before leaving a store!
