This weekend me and two other Girls Who Code alumni had the opportunity to go to Hack the Central District's startup weekend in Seattle for building www.puplert.com, an app to help locate lost dogs.
To make this possible we went out and talked to lots of vets, pet shelters, and dog owners for customer validation to see if this was even a good idea. We had the opportunity to work with a front end developer and a back end developer who helped program the app and get it up and running.
We just had an amazing team to work with and we placed second! it was such an amazing experience, and it just goes to show that you're never too young to go to a startup weekend and you never know what you could build within 48 hours - so just try it out.
