Despite being hospitalized twice on a mandatory 5150 psychiatric hold, Amanda Bynes has always vehemently denied she has any mental illness...until today, that is.
The troubled starlet took to Twitter to reveal she suffers from bipolar disorder and manic depression that she's currently getting treatment for.
And although her parents have been granted a conservatorship over her affairs yet again, Amanda refuses to live with them and says they won't give her money for an apartment or her belongings.
I was diagnosed bi - polar and manic depressive so I'm on medication and I'm seeing my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly so I'm fine :D- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
My lawyer said if I comply with the courts and take my meds and see my psychologist and pyshchiatrist weekly then I will get unconserved- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
They are with holding my belongings and money from me so I don't have new clothes or enough money to rent an apartment- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
Since Amanda was released from a mental facility unexpectedly last Thursday, it seems like her parents are trying to draw a hard line and give Amanda some tough love.
So until I get a different conservator ill look terrible because I don't have enough to get new clothes or anything I need- amanda bynes (@amandabynes) November 4, 2014
Although it's sad she's not speaking to her family, the fact that she's finally admitting her mental illnesses is a big step in the right direction.
Hopefully, she'll continue to get better and make peace with her parents.
