New Starbucks Dress Code Bans All the Best Bling

Sorry, Starbucks baristas - your bling is no longer welcome while you're working.

The popular coffee shop just released their new employee dress code and as it turns out, diamonds are not a barista's best friend.

"There are food safety rules we have to live by. Here's the fine print - wearing a ring is okay if it's a plain band, no stones," the new guidelines state. "Unfortunately, no watches, bracelets or wristbands are allowed. Simple necklaces can be worn under your clothes."

Apparently, a stone coming loose and falling into a customer's Frappucino presents a pretty serious chocking hazard.

Some former Starbucks fans have taken to Twitter to express their outrage over the new rule, and some are even trying to get the hashtag #boycottstarbucks going.

For what it's worth, baristas can only have two piercings per ear, too. Ear gauges and small nose studs are also allowed, but septum rings are not. Sorry, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry!

In perhaps the most disappointing dress code regulation, no sweatpants, leggings or yoga pants are allowed. Forget it, we'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe if we worked there!
