It looks like Fashion Police is about to get a strong dose of Kathy Griffin.

According to TMZ, the funny lady has already closed a deal to replace the late Joan Rivers on the show, where she'll join Melissa Rivers, Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic.

It's not clear whether co-host George Kotsiopoulos will return to the show as well, but we will see a big difference in it when Kathy makes her debut. The program will no longer be a weekly series, the site reported. Instead, it will air during awards shows and other special event programming.

Kathy was rumored to be replacing Joan on the show back in September, but she dismissed those stories at the time, tweeting, "Just 2 clarify. I have not contacted E! & they have not contacted me."

While no one will ever really be able to fill the void Joan left when she passed away unexpectedly Aug. 28, a source told Us Weekly that "Joan has always given her blessing to Kathy" and that she "wanted Kathy to be her successor."

"They talked about it many times," the insider says. "They have such a similar sense of humor and were the best of friends. Joan would have loved seeing Kathy on Fashion Police and she would have definitely approved."
