For one thing, the former Gossip Girl star loves the scent of a particular tree. "To me the smell of Christmas is spruce because I think growing up in California, when those candles would come out, it was the only way that we actually got any sort of a winter, because we had no snow, we had no seasons," she said in an interview for Gucci Premiere (via Marie Claire UK). "It was always that sort of pine smell...going to the Christmas tree lot...that to me feels like Christmas."
As for her favorite Christmas traditions, the Age of Adaline star said, "it's really about being with family. So, we never leave the house."
"We're together all day, whether that's making gingerbread houses or baking cookies or sitting around the house watching movies," she continued. "Everyone gets in the same bed and we just spend like seven hours a day all together just chatting and it's really nice to have that time. It's rare that we get the time where we're all in one place."
If she could have her pick of holiday films to watch on Christmas, Blake said she would choose her all-time faves Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire and It's A Wonderful Life. "I also love those Claymation movies too. I haven't outgrown them," she continued.
And Blake, who isn't afraid to flaunt her cooking skills, isn't the only one in her family who enjoys baking up a batch of yummy treats for the holiday season. Her mom and dad also bake too. When asked who's the best cookie baker in the family, the mom-to-be replied with a smile, "my dad actually makes the best cookies. My mom is makes cookies too but doesn't share them – it's tantalizing! Luckily for me though, my dad shares his!"
