The actress's rapper husband, Earl Hayes, reportedly shot her to death and then killed himself, according to People. Both were found dead Monday in their Los Angeles apartment.
Ed Winter, the Los Angeles County coroner's assistant chief, confirmed that news to People, adding that Stephanie had "multiple gunshot wounds."
According to TMZ, Earl thought Stephanie was cheating on him, particularly with Trey Songz. The site reported that he separated from her two years ago because of an alleged affair with the "Na Na" singer, and although Earl and Stephanie later got back together, he "never got over it." Earl also supposedly accused Stephanie of having "multiple affairs with other entertainers."
According to the Los Angeles Times, Earl was a close friend of Floyd Mayweather, and was once signed to his Philthy Rich Records label. Floyd's camp reportedly "had conversations with" Earl before he shot his wife.
TMZ reported that Floyd was on FaceTime with Earl when everything happened, and was a witness to the murder/suicide.
Neither Floyd or Trey has yet to comment, but following news of Stephanie's passing, the singer posted this tweet in dedication to her:
