Last week, I had the privilege to not only meet, but also record a duet with Jeff Timmons of the multi-platinum group 98 Degrees. Yes, I am still pinching myself as it was so surreal. We recorded a live acoustic version of their hit song "I Do (Cherish You)."
I had no idea what it would be like to meet Jeff for the first time. Right from our first conversation it was clear that he is completely and totally down-to-earth and humble. To me, it was impressive and also relieving that someone of his caliber could be so cool and easy to talk to. Jeff and his team were so welcoming and supportive that it made the experience so enjoyable and memorable.
When trying to record the song, as always we were on a pretty tight time crunch and the interface, which is a crucial part of recording, was not working. Remarkably, everyone was able to put their heads together, Jeff even got on his hands and knees to help, and solve the problem. We filmed the video in 3 takes which in total took about 12 minutes. I am truly amazed at the product we accomplished in such a short and limited amount of time.
I'm so grateful for this opportunity. And I have to thank Jeff, who proved to be a not only great role model but also a friend. This was definitely an experience I won't forget!
(I hope you enjoy the video of our recording, below - this shows once again that if you have a passion and a dream to succeed, anything is possible!)
