Katy Perry's Lawyers Not Happy About Artist Selling 3D-Printed Left Shark

Katy Perry's legal team just put the kabbash on some guy selling a 3D-printed left shark doll. Or was it an action figure? The world may never know...

Artist Fernando Sosa created this 3D printed version of left shark and listed it for sale on the website Shapeways for $24.99.
Unfortunately, if you click on the link to try to buy it, you're taken to an error page as the item is no longer available. No, it's not because they all sold out. It's because Fernando received a letter from Katy Perry's legal team telling him he could no longer sell left shark since it is the singer's intellectual property.

Here's a portion of the letter Fernando received, which he posted on his Instagram page:
Some people have argued that Katy doesn't actually own the shark unless she or her team created the character. We are not lawyers, so we won't even speculate, but apparently someone who IS is willing to take on Katy's legal team in an effort to #Freeleftshark and let Fernando continue make and sell his 3D figures: The one thing we do know is that while Katy apparently wasn't fond of the 3D version of left shark, she did dig this guy's left shark tattoo:
