Is there drama brewing between Charli XCX and One Direction? After her kind of/sort of diss of the boybanders, it's clear she doesn't think too highly of the 1D lads' brand of pop.

Charli threw shade at a variety of groups on Simon Cowell's record label, Syco Music...that includes One Direction, Fifth Harmony and Little Mix, so it sounds like, based on her comment, she's not a fan of anything Simon's got his name on.

She recently told Q magazine (via Press Party), when asked about starting her own label: "I think Simon Cowell's cool, I'd love to be in that position, but from the point of view of making music that's not s**t."

Ouch.

Charli XCX added, "I couldn't make any pop music because I hated pop music. I just didn't want to think about it I wanted to be free. It was a case of getting it out of my system. I felt stuck."

Do you think she was aiming her diss at One Direction or just pop music in general?

UPDATE: Speaking of pop music, Charli XCX recently sang this punk cover version of Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" for BBC Radio 1. Are you feeling it?
