After getting back together with his ex-girlfriend, Ansel Elgort is revealing why he decided to give it another shot.
Following his five-month hiatus from Violetta Komyshan, the Divergent star and his high school ladylove reunited. "I was doing okay," he told Details about being single, "but I knew something was missing, and I was like, 'Oh, that's love'." So sweet.
In addition to his love life, Ansel's career has been catapulting since his manager spotted him in a December 2011 high-school production of Guys and Dolls. Aside from his lead roles in Fault in Our Stars and the Divergent series, he will reportedly soon sign on for two starring roles in upcoming movies, November Criminals and Baby Driver, according to the mag.
The 20-year-old thesp has also been cast in Prada's spring advertising campaign and will take on Miami's huge EDM event, Ultra Music Festival, as DJ Ansolo in March. Even though it's still early in his career, Ansel said he's being very careful about the projects he takes on, choosing art over money.
"That's one reason I want to buy a house now," he told the mag. "So I can have my place and not worry about money. Then I can do plays. Do Broadway. Make whatever movie I want and not feel like, 'Well, I have to pay a mortgage and take this job and that job.' The minute you start thinking, 'I don't want to do that, but it'll make me money,' is when you start fucking yourself. I don't want money to ever drive my career. I want my career to be driven by what I want to do in art."
Ansel's Fault in Our Stars costar Shailene Woodley said that career could be in just about anything when it comes to him. "Ansel is not just an actor," she told the mag. "He's a musician and a producer. He can paint miniatures and dance like a motherfu**er. If he wants to act forever, then he's going to. If he wants to be a musician, he's going to be a musician. If he wants to climb Mount Everest or become a professional hang-glider dude, then that's what he's going to end up doing."
We can't wait to see what's in store.
