Remember the two 12-year-old Waukesha, Wisconsin girls who allegedly stabbed their friend 19 times to please a fictional horror character called Slender Man? There was a court hearing Tuesday and the latest updates on the shocking case are truly eerie.
Evidence found in Morgan Geyser's bedroom after the police searched it following the crime turned up mutilated Barbie dolls with bloody occult symbols on them along with a diary that contained multiple drawings of Slender Man and a checklist on what they needed to carry out the murder of their friend.
The two girls, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, are accused of attempted first degree murder after they reportedly lured their friend into the woods then stabbed her multiple times in hopes of becoming proxies to Slender Man. Luckily, the victim lived and is recovering well despite the awful attack.
In court, one of the girl's lawyers argued that his client "absolutely" believed the fictional character was real in an attempt to get the case tried in juvenile court, instead of as an adult. In a video interview with a detective, Weier explains she was worried Slender Man would kill her family. "He doesn't have a face. He targets children. He has tendrils on his back," she supposedly says. "I was really scared he could kill my whole family in three seconds."
Do you think the girls should be tried as adults?
