While recently chatting with BBC Radio 1, Tay Tay revealed that her belly button shot was put on Instagram for a specific reason. She didn't want people to make money off of her.
"My security gets out the binoculars and sees that [the paparazzi] have a huge long lens camera. ... At which point, we go back to the beach and realize, 'okay, so they got pictures of us in our bikinis,' Taylor told Nick Grimshaw on the Breakfast Show.
"I don't want them to make, like, $100,000 for a bikini shot. And so we're like, 'Get up on the bow of the boat, we're taking better bikini shots so that they don't make as much money on theirs."
While that might seem like a steep price for a pic of Tay in her swimsuit, it's not. You see, just a few months ago she swore up and down in an interview that we'd never see her belly button.
"I don't like showing my belly button," Tay told Lucky magazine. "I want that to be a mystery. As far as anyone knows based on my public appearances, they haven't seen evidence of a belly button. It could be pierced. They have no idea. If I'm going to get some sort of massive tattoo, it's going to be right next to my belly button because no one's ever going to see that."
Taylor's also not a fan of people making cash off of her. She's recently put the legal smackdown on several people trying to sell merchandise with her lyrics or name on them, too.
