Liam Payne got fired up today over a report that claimed he may be drinking too much - he took to Twitter to explain that this ridiculous rumor isn't true, thank you very much.

Inquisitr posted a link to their story titled "Is One Direction Star Liam Payne Drinking Too Much?," in which the author writes, "Liam Payne could have a drinking problem." The article adds that he's "been having a hard time performing on their On The Road Again tour" and that his bandmates are worried he wouldn't be able to perform.

The article notes that Liam has been partying while on tour and "was recently spotted falling down drunk at a nightclub around Valentine's Day." The story also points to a tweet from Liam that said: "Early show after a night out not a good mix, hope it's good for you Tokyo...I wonder how everyone else feels."

The report also points to Liam's known hotel boredom and one of his tweets that read "Tomorrow will not be easy," indicating he would be hungover.

Liam addressed the rumors in a series of tweets, writing: "@IQShowbiz now I don't really like responding too news articles anymore but i really think this is out of order I don't have a problem." He added, "thanks for worrying but I don't spend my time off stage drinking I play video games with friends and go to the gym."

Liam also pointed out: "I don't drink anymore than a uni student my age so don't treat me like I'm any different to a normal boy my age." He followed it up with a polite tweet to his fans, writing: "Apologies for the rant guys have a nice evening x"

He totally didn't have to explain himself, but we understand why he would be pretty pissed off about this rumor.
