St. Patrick's Day isn't until this weekend but some people in Ireland may get the party started early today due to this crazy news: drugs such as meth, ecstasy, magic mushrooms and ketamine just became legal in the country for a very limited time. On Wednesday morning, an Irish court found the country's Misuse of Drugs Act from 1977 had been expanded unconstitutionally and overturned it.

Irish parliament is scrambling to rewrite emergency legislation that would properly ban the formerly illegal substances, but the earliest the law could possibly go into effect is Thursday at midnight. Government officials confirmed that in the interim "possession ceases to be an offense", so basically, you can't get arrested today for possessing these dangerous drugs. Buying them is still illegal right now, even though doing them isn't against the law temporarily.

However, drugs that aren't affected by this ruling such as marijuana, heroin and cocaine are still completely illegal to have or take. Can you believe some drugs are actually legalized in Ireland temporarily?
