Ed Sheeran just scored some major brownie points. The ginger singer totally stuck up for a bullied singing-show contestant after the show's judges totally slammed him.

It all went down when New Zealand X-Factor contestant Joe Irvine did his thing to Michael Buble's "Cry Me a River" on the show. The two judges (we don't even know who they are) apparently weren't too fond of his performance, and really ripped him a new one.

Seriously. The clip is so brutal, it took everything we had to not freak out while watching it. This poor guy! No wonder Eddie came to the rescue!
Cool, right? Ed's proved he's a pro by dealing with his own situations like this. Former Oasis member Noel Gallagher totally dissed him a few months ago, and a fan has even called him ugly before.

What do you think of Ed's response to the bashed singer? How would you have reacted to those harsh comments?
