When Fifty Shades Of Grey casting rumors first sparked, Emilia Clarke was one of the stars fans hoped would nab the role of Anastasia Steele.

While Dakota Johnson ended up landing and nailing the role, the Game of Thrones star revealed she turned down the opportunity because of how exposed she would have been (literally) in the film.

After taking two meetings with director Sam-Taylor Johnson, Emilia decided not to pursue the role further, telling the Hollywood Reporter, "I'd done nudity before and was concerned with being labeled for doing it again."
71st Annual Golden Globe Awards - HBO After PartyEmilia has not only bared her bod in Game of Thrones, but she also got naked and slipped into a bathtub during her New York stage debut in 2013 as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's. When she stripped down for the play, she recalled half the audience started shooting video on their phones. "That was a bit bonkers," she said.

It's safe to say turning down Fifty Shades hasn't hurt Emilia's career one bit though. Aside from her starring role as Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, the actress also stars alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the upcoming Terminator: Genisys, among other projects.

"No regrets," she said.
