"I think she's going to be the one making me watch sports, because for me it's always tea time," he jokingly told E! News about their daughter James, while promoting his new film Woman in Gold.
Tea time aside, he and Blake still haven't been getting much sleep since they welcomed their baby girl, but they seem to love every bit of the experience. "There have been times where I literally woke up and had no idea I had been walking for five minutes," he continued. "But you love it. You wake up in the middle of the night, you got a big stupid smile on your face."
"I was telling someone else that," he said. "Anything else that woke you up every 45 minutes, you'd kill it. But when it's a baby, it's like the best thing that ever happened to you." So great, that Ryan hinted he would never let work or anything else come between him and the important moments in their child's life.
In Woman in Gold, Ryan's character ends up missing his child's birth because of a controversial court case he's hired to argue, which the thesp said he never could have done in his own life. "I know Randy was committed to this cause, missing his child's birth...you would need wild horses and several bulldozers to pull me away from that. I could not miss that," he continued.
As for James' birth, Ryan said it made his relationship with Blake even more special, adding, "You fall so much more in love with your partner. It's a pretty crazy experience. It's so common, but so profound. So many people do."
The couple welcomed little James in December, with Ryan finally confirming her name last month.
