Let this be a lesson to anyone who thinks it's a good idea to rush the stage at a concert: just stay where you are.

After getting attacked by an overzealous fan at Maroon 5's concert in Anaheim, Calif. last week, Adam Levine opened up again about what went down. "She ran full speed at me, and I was like, you know, singing," he told Today during an interview with his Voice cohosts. "Like I said, I was not aware of her existence at all."

While Adam was in the middle of a song, a woman dressed up in a mini dress and heels hopped on to the stage, ran, and wildly threw her arms around Adam, scratching his ear. Since security didn't immediately rush out, Adam had to figure out the situation by himself at first.

When Gwen Stefani asked him where his security was during the incident, he said, "Good question," adding, "She was on me and the next thing I knew I kind of had to deal with it since there was no one else."

"So, I looked at her, and I kind of held her shoulders," he continued. "I'm like, 'You need to calm down. Please calm down, relax.' And I put my arm around her."

Adam also talked to the audience after the girl was escorted off the stage by security a little while after, saying, "It's just weird to be, like, in the moment, ya know?" he told the crowd. "And you're singing, and your eyes are closed, and you have this beautiful moment. And then the next thing you know someone's f**king in your face. It's super terrifying."
