Rihanna is making a statement with her politically charged music video for her latest single "American Oxygen."

In the five-minute video, moving images of footage from 9/11, the Civil Rights movement, homelessness in America and recent racial protests fade in and out as Rihanna croons in the midst of the shots.

"I say, you see, this is the American Dream/ Young girl, hustlin'/ On the other side of the ocean/ She can be anything at all/ America, America/ I should, come see/ Just close your eyes and breathe," she sings.
"One of the most important music videos I have made to date...WATCH #AmericanOxygen here worldwide --> https://itun.es/i6LS8dr," she tweeted Thursday. This is Rihanna's latest single following the release of her hit song "B*tch Better Have My Money."
