As if Anna Kendrick wasn't busy enough stockpiling successful movie roles to beef up her acting arsenal, the Pitch Perfect star is poised to make yet another major move, but this time it'll be on paper. The actress signed on to write a series of autobiographical essays, set for a fall 2016 release. The book doesn't even have a title yet, but the hilariously candid manner in which Anna announced her new literary venture makes it sound absolutely ah-mazing - and we trust that it will be!
In an official statement from the actress and her publisher, Anna wrote:
I'm excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I'd like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness and the frequency with which I embarrass myself.
And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I'm very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!
OK, so grammatical conundrums aside, who else is totally overcome with excitement at the prospect of a book full of Anna's quip-filled, facepalm-y personal stories? Since we can already count on Anna to drop some major gut-busters in 140 characters or less (seriously, she's a Twitter genius), her book should be nothing short of "pitcher" perfect.
