What direction will One Direction take musically for their next album? With the move to a four-piece after Zayn Malik left the band last month and a general desire for the guys to mature from one album to the next, let's just say we're expecting new and exciting things.

Liam Payne gave a teeny tiny teaser of what fans can expect and he's calling it "a bit Oasis-y." Hmm. Interesting.

He told Capital FM recently that the writing process is "going really well," explaining, "The boys we've been writing with have come up with some great, great songs that are kind of like a bit Oasis-y almost which is ace. I love that."

Liam added, "The songs have come out a bit more chill because I think we want this to be quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime. You know like how Ed [Sheeran's] album, anytime you can thrown on an Ed song and it always makes sense. We're trying to do that."

Sounds like they really want to age things up a bit, doesn't it?
