Sanders created the model for his project based on other countries.
The senator made a point declaring that our country used to have the most graduates in the world but now, has dropped to 12th place.
"Countries like Germany, Denmark, Sweden and many more are providing free or inexpensive higher education for their young people," he said in a statement. "They understand how important it is to be investing in their youth. We should be doing the same."
Personally, I do not feel that this plan will work. What he is not considering is the cost of the material, professors, air conditioning, running water, just basic everyday needs. Maybe Bernie did consider this factor and has yet to reveal how it will work, but for right now, it does not seem ideal.
Yes, it is great for families like mine that will be struggling to pay for college, but making all public colleges free is not a smart idea either. The United States economy is not at its finest point, either. Taking from the government for this project is not ideal.
Free college? Sign me up! But the way Bernie has planned, I don't think I'll be looking forward to this proposal.
