Woman Held Hostage Uses Pizza Hut App to Get Help

Talk about brilliant! A Florida woman managed to save herself and her kids from a hostage situation using a Pizza Hut app on her phone. For reals!

According to the cops, the woman had essentially been trapped at home all day with her knife-sharpening, blade-carrying boyfriend. He wouldn't let her leave by herself to get the kids from school, either, confiscating her cell and insisting on coming along. Finally, she got him to hand over the phone specifically so she could order a pizza.

That's when an online pizza order, for a small hand-tossed classic pizza with pepperoni, was received by the local Pizza Hut. Under the comments section there was a message asking them to send help and call 911. Imagine seeing that!

Pizza Hut employees recognized the order as being from a frequent customer. Luckily, they called the police to investigate the situation because the comments were out of the ordinary.

"Please help. Get 911 to me," and "911hostage help!" she wrote. The cops swarmed in and saved the day. Just when you thought those apps were pointless...or a waste of space.
