Kim Kardashian is working on a different type of reality show. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star executive produced #RedFlag, a documentary about mental illness and social media that aired on HLN this week. During a Google Hangout, Kanye West's wife explained what made her get interested in the topic of mental health.

"I just started to see too many people around me suffer, and I couldn't give them advice for where they should go to get help. And so I wanted to really inform myself and try to help inform other people and bring awareness to [the issue]," she says.

Kim hopes the documentary will encourage people suffering from depressions and other mental illnesses to seek help. "It's something that I feel is a little taboo. I also think it's hard for people to admit they have a mental illness and I want them to know it's okay. And there is help available," she adds.

Props to Kim for bringing attention to an important cause!
