Jaden Smith's Batman Prom Outfit Will Give You Life

It would've been a shock if Jaden Smith kept it simple and wore a generic tux to prom...but even this was a bit of a surprise.

Following his festivities at prom with his date Mecca Kalani this weekend, photos popped up of him on social media escorting her there in an all-white Batman costume complete with a cape.

Although he threw on a white oversized suit jacket over the look for their pre-prom pics, the After Earth star let it all hang out when they got to the dance, stripping off the blazer and putting on a Batman mask and a tie to match.
Meanwhile, his date kept her look traditional, rocking a white gown with an open-back and lace detailing. "What a night," Mecca captioned a shot of them posting together at prom. Indeed.

The outfit Jaden wore to prom actually looks very similar to the white Batman suit he wore to Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's wedding in May 2014. In snaps from the reception, the 16-year-old actor-rapper can be seen in full Batman costume complete with a white mask posing with guests.

It's not clear if it's the same suit, or a fresh Batman bodysuit for this special occasion, but it's safe to say Jaden won prom. He recently explained his Batman-inspired fashion choices in an interview with Billboard in March, telling the mag, "People have ideals and they have a certain thing that they expect because of growing up in a certain society and I'm just trying to break those ideals."

"Fabrics definitely inspire me and superhero comic book characters inspire my clothes," he continued. "That's why I like to wear long drapey things because I want to look like Batman and Robin. I want to hit the polarities of life, show people that there's a duality; there's two sides to everything."
