What works on the red carpet isn't always considered appropriate for high school prom, which 16-year-old Pensacola High student Alexis Craft learned the hard way. The Mobile, AL teenager had a custom prom dress made by local designer Destani Hoffman, and got kicked out of prom for wearing it.

The double front slits and long sleeves are giving us major Kendall Jenner vibes from her gown she rocked at the MuchMusic Awards last year. Unlike the E! starlet, Alexis says she wasn't going commando in the creation, but the high school dean of students deemed it a dress code violation.

"It had panels in the front cut all the way to the crotch all the way around," the dean said. "When she walked it was up to her crotch and it swung open and she had nothing else on underneath it." Alexis was given the choice to go home and change, but she opted to just stay home after being asked to leave.

"I don't want sympathy about it, I just want to show how girls are degraded and harassed when wearing something they felt comfortable and confident in by people who want to protect thoughts that boys might have," Alexis explained in a Facebook post. The good news is she was allowed to wear her dress to her boyfriend's prom at another high school, so at least she got some use out of her custom creation.
