Miley Cyrus performed a new song last night, but it didn't go down without her bursting into tears. No she wasn't singing about Liam Hemsworth or anything, but her beloved, dead pet fish. For reals.

Miley's apparently mourning the death of her blowfish Pablow. She broke down while performing a song she wrote for him while on stage the other night.

"Why does everything that I love have to die?" she sang sadly on stage in a video she shared on Facebook. "If I could do it again, I'd release you to sea because I can't bear to see someone so wild just die in a tank."

Miley held it together for the most part. It wasn't until the end that she started to cry. She finished the song by slamming on her keyboard and walking off to the side of the stage, where she received a hug.

Miley revealed news of Pablow's death on Feb. 5, when she shared a photo of him on Instagram. This isn't the first pet passing she's had to deal with. She struggled with the death of her dog Floyd last year.

She played the song for Pablow to help promote her new Happy Hippie Foundation, which aims "to rally young people to fight injustice facing homeless youth, LGBT youth and other vulnerable populations."

Some of you may remember a few months ago my dear blow fish Pablow past away. I wrote this song for him...He made me so happy and I miss him everyday.... But now he is with Floyd and Melanie's sweet Sadie
