Although the first concert was set to take place in San Diego Sept. 18, ticketholders received an e-mail from AXS Ticketing Company Friday saying the entire tour had been scrapped and she will tour in 2016 instead.
"The Iggy Azalea Great Escape Tour scheduled for this fall has been cancelled and refunds are available at point of purchase," the email read, according to Just Jared. "There will be a new tour planned around Iggy's new record to be released in 2016 and we apologize for any inconvenience."
Although Iggy has yet to provide an explanation for why the tour was cancelled, she did send a message to fans after they received the news.
News of Iggy's tour cancellation comes just a couple of months after she postponed her tour for five months because of production delays, according to AMP Radio. At the time she told AMP Radio's Michelle & Booker, "I really considered what I wanted to do. Keep and honor these dates for my fans but have not the show that I envisioned and promised them? Or a lesser version of it without maybe not so many people jumping out of the ceilings and flying all over the place?"
As u may know, the tour is cancelled. I'm so sad and sorry to let my fans down...we'll be back out on the road when the next album is done.— IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 29, 2015
"Or do I want to move it and have the absolute best show..the show I envisioned," she continued. "Obviously I chose to move it. I don't want to have an average tour with a normal stage. I want people to come and really feel they got their money worth. I hope people can still come. We're honoring everyone's tickets."
Fingers crossed fans get to see her tour next year.
