The Surprising Reason Why I Quit Tinder
It wasn't exactly what I was looking for...
I made a Tinder account and signed in using my personal Facebook account. I chose a profile picture totally different from my Facebook one, gave myself a bio under 3,000 words (and mentioned my height since my friends said that is super important in a dating profile) and chose my dating preferences.
After setting it all up, I started to swipe left and right. I got about 10 or 11 matches for the three days that I was on the app. That's how I met C. and M., both male and not entirely opposite of each other. C. is from a town near mine. M. is from Norway. C. was interested in hook-ups and dirty talk. M. was interested in nudes and dirty talk. After three days on Tinder, I decided to delete my profile.
Simple! I am not the online dating kind of girl, and after this, I completely realized that. After all, it all starts with a picture, showing how our appearance is still way more important than our personalities.
Would I recommend Tinder? Yes and No. Yes, if you think that you are into online dating and are looking for a hook-up or to meet new people. But if you don't feel like Tinder is how you're going to meet the man of your dreams, then don't do it. Trust your instinct. Plus, there are plenty of fish in the sea, and you will catch your favorite. Just give it time, have patience and never, ever lose your faith in love.
