Connor Cruise sparked a lot of controversy when he tweeted his disappointment that Caitlyn Jenner would be receiving the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at this year's ESPY Awards. "Really? Winning the AA award for courage? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK'D," he wrote, in a now-deleted tweet.
He followed up with, "Don't get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing and don't let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously...There are so many more important things that should be talked about...And SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award."
There has been some debate on Twitter, with some fans arguing that college basketball star Lauren Hill who lost her battle against brain cancer in April, should have been given the honor, while others feel that Noah Galloway, an army veteran who lost his arm and leg to a roadside bomb in Iraq, should receive it.
For Connor's part, he went on another Twitter rant to clarify his feelings and to let people know that he actually supports Caitlyn.
