How do we love Maddie Ziegler? Let us count the ways. For starters, she's a super talented dancer and model with an impressive set of acting skills to match. (She totally deserves an Oscar based on her facial expressions alone.) Then we can't forget about her wonderful relationship with Sia. After filming three videos together they're practically BFFs by now, right? So what else is there to know about the 12-year-old Dance Moms star? Well, thanks to Maddie's recent interview with Yahoo Style, we have some interesting deets on the delightful dancer that'll only make you love her even more than you already do.
What Maddie thinks about her celebrity status may surprise you: "It's really cool but overwhelming," she said in response to how she feels about her fame. "Celebrities know me now, and it's funny. But I don't consider myself a celebrity."
Dancing with Kristen Wiig was basically an episode of Maddie in the Middle: "For me and Kristen, we just had that little tiny stage with all that stuff filled in the set. It was hard to move. There were so many things. And she had, like a ballet coach, stretch her. She's so funny too. She's hilarious."
She has a sophisticated fashion sense: "I really like Zendaya's style. She's kind of tomboyish, but still girly at the same time."
Maddie's facial expressions are nowhere near as intense as Shia Labeouf on the "Elastic Heart" set: "Shia gets really into character," Maddie said. "Like he will not talk to anybody before. When we were getting ready for the video he was running in circles, doing pushups with his knuckles, and like hitting the cage and stuff. I was trying to talk to him and then I was like, 'You know what? I'm not going to talk.' I was literally scared! I was like, 'Does he always do this?' I was so nervous."
Sia gave her some pretty amazing advice: "Always stay humble and don't get cocky, because it's annoying when people are like that. She also said to never work too hard. It's good to keep dancing every day, but if you aren't passionate about it, don't do it."
So, yeah ... it happened — we love Maddie even more now. This moment definitely calls for a glorious leap for joy.
