Oh, how time flies!

Stefanie Scott first caught our attention in 2011 on Disney Channel's A.N.T. Farm, but now the 18-year-old actress is all grown up and her new horror movie, Insidious: Chapter 3, definitely shows it. Stefanie talked to us about getting out of her comfort zone and even revealed what some of her biggest fears are.

C: Since this is the prequel, can you tell us about who your character is and how she fits into the Insidious storyline?
SS: "This starts the franchise at the origin. Quinn Brenner has just lost her mom and is reaching out to the dead to contact her. A violent entity attaches itself to her instead, resulting in her fighting for her life."

C: We imagine filming wasn't as scary as watching, right? What was most challenging?
SS: "It was definitely challenging! Especially the emotional and physical roller coaster Quinn rides, but it was hands down the most fun I've ever had on a set."

C: People know you best from the Disney Channel - but was doing a horror film/role something you always had planned on?
SS: "I think that was just a different time in my life. I'm growing up and getting the opportunity to express myself in different ways. That's what acting is. I love a challenge and am very attracted to dark and unique material."
C: What is your favorite horror movie?
SS: "Hands down The Shining. It's so classic."

C: What is your biggest fear?
SS: "Being trapped in a haunted maze doesn't sound very fun, ya know?"

C: What's the scariest thing you've ever done?
SS: "Probably the stunts in this film. You'll see, it was quite intense and dangerous."

C: Lastly, we are a site that is for girls, #BUILTBYGIRLS. What does something like #BUILTBYGIRLS mean to you?
SS: "Not only to empower yourself, but empower others. Girls supporting girls is a magical thing. Not only that but that all of your biggest dreams and desires start from you. Literally anything is possible, as hard as that can be to believe sometimes. But even then, why not just believe? Don't let them tell you, you can't. Live your life for you and don't forget to be kind."

Insidious: Chapter 3 will be in theaters on June 5.
