So...as it turns out, Katy Perry is not doing a Taylor Swift diss track called "1984." In fact, she's not doing ANY song called 1984.

After a song was discovered in the BMI Repertoire called "1984" and Katy was listed as the artist, the internet immediately took it and ran with it. Obviously, Tay's recent album was called '1989' (her birth year) and reportedly contained a song about their feud, so it looked like Katy was hitting back with her own birth year. Not the case...

In an exclusive statement to Billboard, Katy's managers confirmed that KP had absolutely nothing to do with this song.

"Katy Perry's managers at Direct Management Group confirm that this story is completely false," a rep for Katy at Universal told them. "Katy Perry was not involved in writing, singing, recording or registering this song."

Katy, who hadn't commented about the rumor, did RT the Billboard article letting her fans (and T-Swizzle) know that the alleged diss track was not happening.

Could Tay possibly hear Katy "Roar" on a diss track sometime in the future? We suppose anything is possible, but given that the whole "1984" thing was as surprising to Katy was it was to us, if we had to go all Magic 8 Ball with our prediction, we'd say...
