This Simple Conversation Between Dads and Their Children Will Bring You to Tears

Before you watch this video, make sure you have some tissues handy, because girl you're gonna need them!

"We asked ten fathers and their children to participate in a short video. That's all they were told," the video description for 'Tell Them Now' simply explains. "The result is powerful and surprised even the participants."

It surprised us, too. Because at first things were just kind of awkward and everyone is standing there, with their dad, and they're staring at each other wondering what the heck they just got themselves into. They had no idea that the short conversation they were about to have would quite possibly become one of the most moving experiences of their entire lives.

"What about me makes you proud," the participants were told to ask their fathers. The follow-up? They told their dads what they were most grateful to them for...and that's pretty much the exact moment we lost it.

If you had a great dad, have you told him that, or do you just take it for granted that he knows? It's awkward to stand there and say "Dad, I'm grateful to you for..." but it's worth all the awkwardness in the world when you see one of the participants standing there, crying, saying what she only wishes she said to her dad when she still had the chance.

"We hope it will inspire you to pick up the phone and call your dad," the film makers explain in the video description. "Tell him why you're grateful; tell him why you're proud. He might just do the same. So much in life goes unsaid. Vulnerability and gratitude can crack us open in the best of ways."

Tell him today, tell him on Father's Day this weekend, have this conversation as soon as you possibly can because you never know when you won't have that opportunity anymore.
