Most of us just ignore QR codes and after hearing this guy's story, it's probably a good thing that we do.

Apparently, there was a QR code on a Heinz Ketchup bottle that was supposed to direct people to a site where they could enter to design their own ketchup bottle. Unfortunately, when one guy scanned his QR code, he was redirected to a German porn site. And not some ketchup-y fetish site, just a straight-up XXX site.

It surprisingly wasn't a disgruntled employee trying to "show them." According to The Local, the contest ran between 2012 and 2014 and after it ended, Heinz let the domain they had been using expire and someone else snatched it up. That someone happened to be a porn site.

The bottle was reportedly a leftover that had been filled up and sold after the contest had ended and here comes the unsuspecting customer who gets the bottle, scans his code and surprise!

The customer shared his finding on the Heinz Ketchup Facebook page, saying that even if it was a leftover bottle, it's still going to end up in a lot of households and that there is no excuse for letting that happen.

The company appears to have responded to him, saying they were sorry it had happened and that they'd let him design a ketchup label, which is why he scanned the QR code in the first place. Hopefully he steers clear of QR codes on his design.
